How to calculate sales tax:

  1. Gather Information you need to calculate a price of product including Sales Tax and amount of tax in your State

    • your product price before tax;
    • sales tax in your state (follow the table above);
  2. Writedownformula:V=P×(1+T)

    V = the total price including tax

    P = your price before tax

    T = tax in your state

  3. Find out (1 + T) — write down the percentage of tax as a decimal, just divide tax by 100. As an example, 6% tax / 100 = 0.06 and add 1. In our example, 1+ 0.06 = 1.06

  4. Find the price with tax — multiply your price before tax by the previous step result. As an example, $100 x 1.06 = $106
